Power batteries have a huge impact on the development of the electric vehicle industry.

Electric vehicles are developing towards high-end intelligence. Electric vehicle manufacturing technology is constantly improving, and manufacturing processes are becoming increasingly mature. However, one drawback has consistently limited the development of electric vehicles: the battery. With the successive announcements of timelines and bans on the sale of gasoline-powered vehicles in various countries, the new energy industry is once again experiencing a surge in development.

It is foreseeable that lithium batteries will be widely used in the future electric vehicle industry.

There are three main types of lithium batteries used in electric vehicles. First, ternary lithium batteries, which are currently the most commonly used. Second, ternary lithium iron phosphate batteries, and third, lithium titanate batteries. Among these, lithium titanate batteries have very low adoption rates, and the number of people using them is also very small.

First, the major manufacturers are basically ternary lithium battery manufacturers.

Three major taboos of lithium batteries

First: temperature. Lithium batteries are sensitive to high temperatures.

The second largest current, for example, is 3C discharge for an 18650 battery. Your electric vehicle is 8000W, and the battery used is lower than the discharge current of the electric vehicle. This will cause the lithium battery to overheat, the current to be too high, and the lifespan to be shortened.

There will also be protruding waste. If your electric vehicle has high power and extremely high speed, it is recommended to choose an 18650 battery with a current of 10C. Choosing the right battery is obviously very important.

The third issue is the storage of a fully charged battery. Ternary lithium batteries are fully charged at 4.35V. Currently, protection boards on the market stop charging at 4.2V. Therefore, many people buy lithium batteries for electric vehicles and claim they don't have a nominal capacity. In reality, for this reason, electric vehicle lithium batteries are often stored for extended periods with the battery only charged to 50%. For example, if you buy a new mobile phone, its battery level is usually around 50%. If a battery is fully charged and stored for a long time, its capacity will decrease.

Except for lithium iron phosphate and lithium titanate, both of these types can be fully charged and stored. It is also essential to choose a higher-quality protection board. Overcharging and over-discharging are detrimental to lithium batteries; ternary lithium batteries may be over-discharged even once, rendering them unusable. Over-discharged batteries must be scrapped.

Please note these points, and your electric vehicle's lithium battery will last five or six years without any problems.
